The Existential Experience of Flying on an Airplane

The jet engines brag about their strength as we pick up the pace, like a racehorse who loves to gallop. My head, back and arms are drawn to the seat like a magnet.

I secretly want the airplane to skid off the runway in a weird, sadistic kind of way. However, we eventually pulled up. Up and away. Away from my recent stressors that are now left strewn across the tarmac.

It doesn’t take long for the airplane to level out and for the rows of sleepy heads to flop.
